Quotes:
Gannett
“... Taylor's music is smooth and hypnotic... a clear and tasty guitar style.“

Los Angeles Times

"Don't let the smooth jazz label fool you... Taylor rocks out like a cross between Santana and Pat Metheny, with a touch of Duane Allman thrown in."

Sensational guitarist Joe Taylor returns to the Smooth Jazz charts with Accidental Sugar, the long-awaited follow-up to his RCA Victor hit album, Spellbound - a Top 5 Radio & Records and Billboard success. Contemporary Jazz and Instrumental Pop fans will appreciate the quality songs, instantly memorable melodies, and top-notch musicianship displayed throughout Joe's hot new album from Moonwatcher Music.

Trying to classify the multi-talented Mr. Taylor (Producer, Composer, Arranger, Session Musician, Recording Artist, World-Music Aficionado, etc) is akin to trying to typecast a great actor. No matter what role of the moment he is playing, it always produces a high quality result. As a Producer, he's masterful at pulling the best performances out of his skilled musicians and collaborators. As a Composer, he always seems to write the perfect melody to reflect the mood of each track. As an Arranger, his impeccable orchestrations and detail-oriented craftsmanship make every measure count, there is not a note played or space unoccupied that is wasted. As a Guitarist, his solos are the epitome of tastefulness with his succinct note choices and underlying intensity. All of these vital elements are displayed prominently with this dose of Accidental Sugar. Take a listen... you won't wanna stop!

Check Out The Music:
Starting with the opening notes of the upbeat tune, Floating Hearts, this album will feel like you're rediscovering one of your favorite CDs that you haven't listened to in forever. By creatively and seamlessly blending elements of multiple genres and styles into one cohesive signature sound, you may find yourself asking... why isn't all "smooth" jazz this elegant and lively? Fans of Smooth Jazz mainstays like Lee Ritenour, Fourplay, Jeff Lorber, Rick Braun, and Jeff Golub will immediately get why this music is so great to listen to.

The animated opening track, Floating Hearts, features great call-and-response exchanges between guitar and piano, while the hip-hop influenced beats of Damage segue into smooth, melodic riffs…building with multiple guitars, eventually cooling off with a latin-influenced charango breakdown. The World-Music influenced Andalusia features fellow Moonwatcher Music Recording Artist John Ragusa on flute playing a striking unison melody with Taylor's guitar.

I Just Wanna Stop is sure to find a home at Urban AC radio with the soulful vocals of Al B. Sure! Chasing Moonbeams sets the romantic tone with its sinewy melody, string flourishes, and perfectly choreographed interplay between JT's guitar and Jeff Franzel's piano.

The scorching Built For It showcases former Paul McCartney & Wings drummer Steve Holley weaving his funky half-time shuffle in and out of each distinctive guitar-driven section of this intense tune. Gondwanda is a head-spinner with its pulsating, retro-synthesizers and throbbing beat.
