Deseo (translated as...desire) features an infectious musical blend of Smooth Jazz, Instrumental Pop, and New Age which will captivate listeners with its catchy, original compositions, first-class performances, and clever re-workings of some of pop music's finest tunes. Master multi-instrumentalist, John Ragusa, is a veritable one-man orchestra delivering jaw-dropping and passionate performances on a full-range of traditional western flutes including: C flute, Alto flute, Bass flute and Piccolo - as well as wood flutes, pennywhistles, harmonica, jaw harp, pocket trumpet, didgeridoo, and conch shell. Teamed with Producer and fellow Moonwatcher Music recording artist, Joe Taylor, the duo creates a diverse palate of musical textures, distinctive arrangements, and breathtaking soundscapes with their all-star cast of Guest Artists (vocalist Beth Nielsen Chapman & pianist Rob Silvan) and featured musicians (Jeff Franzel/Piano, Steve Holley/Drums, Paul Ossola/Bass, and Alan St. Jon/Hammond Organ & Vocals). Deseo is an impressive platform for this virtuoso musician to showcase his exceptional talents and possibly steal the Smooth Jazz spotlight in 2008.

Check Out The Music:
The Deseo album is book-ended by two memorable original tunes from the super writing trio of Taylor, Franzel and Ragusa, both of which seem like the perfect material for Smooth Jazz radio. Deseo's funky bass lines lock in with the tight drum groove to support the soaring melodies and smoldering solos, while Not Yet takes you back to the ‘70s with slick rhythm guitar and an instantly unforgettable melody…don't miss John's smooth trumpet lines on this track.

The unique collection of retro cover songs include: a simmering rendition of the Jethro Tull classic, Living In The Past (the perfect homage to Ian Anderson's dynamic flute work), a fiery shuffle driving Marvin Gaye's Trouble Man, and a restrained, but intense reading of The Door's signature tune, Riders On The Storm.

Beth Nielsen Chapman, whose hit songs such as This Kiss (the Faith Hill classic) are heard everyday on radios around the world, sounds like she was born to swing on her jazzy, self-penned vocal tune, That's The Easy Part, while her Hindi-inspired vocals take the listener on an enjoyable rollercoaster ride… Beyond The Blue.

Pat Metheny's beautiful ballad, Last Train Home, takes on a new characteristic with its moving vocal performance, as does the band's speaker-rattling and slammin' take on the Sting tune, Hounds of Winter. Be sure to check out the atmospheric, New Age track Cloud Creatures for an impressive display of John's mood setting talents.
